When I was a child I went through multiple phases and was quite the handful. At the time I lived in New York city and would frequently be snowed in. I had no interest in reading and was picky when it comes to watching shows and movies, so boredom was rampant. To remedy my boredom my parents had bought me a Nintendo entertainment system. The amount of available games as limited but it did hold my attention well. Fast forward a few years, “The Legends of Zelda: Ocarina of Time” was released. This is the game that cemented my love of video games. As a small child I just experienced a grand adventure through a foreign world where my decisions drove my success. I learned that when faced with a choice, there are many ways to tackle it and that as individuals our perspectives locks us to a limited experience.

Continuing forward still, I became a teen. As a teen I encountered “The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind”. Morrowind made me want to create video games. The open world and the feel of infinite possibilities captured my creative spirit. I faced the realization that a game can be free of rails, giving the player control on where to go, how to get there, and what to do when you arrive. The question manifested itself, “What would a game look like when all possibilities where possible?”.

I understand that all mediums have their limits, but with the emergence of new technology driving creation, such as “Virtual Reality”, the horizon that I seek moves ever closer. Now, the question that drives me is “How can I shape reality by challenging it?”. With the differences between the living world and the virtual one being blurred, How can we change the perceptions of an individual, of a country, of the world? What will the future look like for the medium? I am here to learn the skills that affects the world.

Additional Information : I enjoy the practice of imagining the future. I have a full schedule with school work and a family. I stay active with both the mind and body, working out at least four times a week.
